Cathy McCormick (left), Dr. Erin Evans and Dave Hill from Stephens & Associates in Overland Park, KS participated in a special reception at the state's capital for Kansas Bioscience Day. The meeting included a presentation from Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius and legislative leaders from across the U.S. The event celebrated the hard work of Kansas advocates who have helped lead the Kansas coalition to ensure the relocation of a federally-funded, state-of-the-art, 500,000 square foot National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility (NBAF) in Kansas.

Governor Kathleen Sebelius visits with Dave Hill from Stephens and Associates, Overland Park, KS at a reception of more than 200 Kansas advocates and political leaders from across the U.S. commemorating the federal government's choice for a $650 million scientific laboratory that will boost efforts to protect the American food supply and agricultural economy. The government's selection of Kansas for the facility finalizes the recommendation made in 2008 by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) after a three-year site selection process that began with 29 potential locations across the country.
