Decreasing veterinary suicide starts with students

Suicide rates in veterinary medicine are higher than average. As Dean of The Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine, Rustin Moore, DVM, PhD, DACVS, is helping veterinary students learn to manage their health and mental well-being even before they enter practice. Through the school’s Be Well program, students complete a behavioral therapy skills-building program that has been proven to reduce depression, stress, anxiety and suicidal thoughts.
